VibeDesign-led

Mollie’s Manchester feels designed for the person who says she doesn’t want a hen do, she just wants a really good weekend with her friends. Inside the former Granada TV Studios, it mixes mid-century furniture, natural oak, terrazzo and a slightly Soho House-ish finish with enough useful tech to stop the whole thing becoming style over substance.

The rooms are unusually well thought through for getting ready. Dyson hairdryers, GHD straighteners, rainfall showers and proper mirrors immediately remove several items from the shared packing list, while Classic Twins give two people separate beds and Bunk Rooms sleep four in actual bunks.

Downstairs there’s an all-day diner, a cocktail and live-music bar and a library-style lounge, so nobody needs to stand awkwardly beside reception waiting for the last room to finish getting ready. It is polished, sociable and very easy to make a weekend out of.

Important: Mollie’s currently has an explicit no-hen policy, so this is for a genuine girls’ or bridesmaids’ weekend where the bride has opted out of a traditional hen — not a hen booking under another name.

Sleeping arrangements

  • Classic Rooms sleep two in a king, while Classic Twins have two full-size single beds and are the obvious choice for friends sharing.
  • Bunk Rooms sleep four across two sets of bunk beds, making them the most group-friendly configuration publicly listed.
  • Comfy, Studio and Suite categories sleep two in king beds, with larger options adding lounge areas and kitchenettes. Exact supplier allocation and bunk/twin availability should be verified.

Location

Mollie’s sits inside the old Granada Studios complex, just off Quay Street and a few minutes from Spinningfields and Deansgate. That puts polished cocktail bars, restaurants, shopping and Manchester’s city-centre nightlife comfortably within walking distance, while the immediate area feels less hectic than staying right in the Northern Quarter.

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 11am. Classic Twins and four-person Bunk Rooms are particularly useful for friends sharing. Some guest feedback flags limited seating and luggage storage in the bunk rooms. Most importantly, Mollie’s currently has a no-hen policy.
