VibeDesign-led

The Halyard takes Liverpool’s maritime history and turns it into something considerably more polished than anchors on the wallpaper. Part of IHG’s Vignette Collection, the hotel uses timber, wool and industrial references throughout, with a smart restaurant and bar downstairs and some particularly useful rooms on the upper floors.

For groups, the big win is the Two Queen Premier: two proper queen beds plus a balcony and city views, giving four friends a much more civilised sharing set-up. There are also queen rooms with sofa beds and larger suites with separate lounge space, although adult sofa-bed occupancy needs confirming before relying on it commercially.

The Ropewalks location puts restaurants, bars and Liverpool ONE within easy walking distance, while the hotel itself gives you somewhere grown-up to start the night. Add dressing tables, mirrors and GHD straighteners in the suites and this feels like a hotel that has accidentally solved quite a lot of group-weekend problems.

Sleeping arrangements

  • Queen Deluxe with Sofa Bed combines one queen bed with a single sofa bed, although adult occupancy should be confirmed before sale.
  • Two Queen Premier has two queen beds plus a balcony and is the strongest published sharing option for up to four.
  • King Suites centre on one king bed; selected suites add sofa beds, lounge areas and terraces. Two top-floor suites can also be booked together as a two-bedroom suite.

Location

The Halyard sits on Duke Street in the Ropewalks, surrounded by bars, restaurants and independent spots, with Liverpool ONE, Bold Street and the Baltic Triangle all straightforward on foot. Royal Albert Dock is also an easy walk away, while Liverpool Central and Lime Street stations keep staggered arrivals manageable. It’s lively without putting you directly above Concert Square, so the group can head out easily while still returning to somewhere that feels considerably more polished than the average nightlife-base hotel.
