A Live Jazz Dinner Inside an Old York Chapel
Nola is the York dinner you book when you want the room to have a pulse. Set inside an old chapel on Lendal, it brings Art Deco details, low lighting, booths and live jazz into a city where dinner can otherwise lean very polite.
The food takes its cues from Louisiana and New Orleans, with smaller plates designed for trying a few things across the table. The upstairs bar gives you somewhere to start before the music kicks in downstairs, making this a strong dinner-as-the-evening booking rather than somewhere everyone immediately leaves after dessert.
Live jazz currently runs Tuesdays and Sundays from 8pm to 10pm, and Fridays from 9pm to 11pm. Bookings during the live-music sessions are for food rather than drinks-only tables.
The £40 figure is an indicative Main Characters dinner spend rather than a fixed Nola package. Larger groups should enquire directly, especially if you want a table during the Friday jazz session.
