A Spa Afternoon at The Grand
The Grand is for the point in the weekend when everyone would quite like to stop walking on cobbles and disappear underground for a few hours. Its SubRosa Spa sits beneath the hotel, with hydrotherapy, saunas, steam rooms and quiet spaces designed for doing very little extremely well.
The Aura package gives you two hours in the spa, lunch in the SubRosa Restaurant and a glass of Champagne, so it feels like a proper part of the weekend without swallowing the whole day. Arrive at 11, emerge at two and suddenly everyone is considerably more prepared to put real clothes back on and head into York again.
The Aura spa day currently starts from £95 per person, with arrival at 11am and departure at 2pm. Lunch includes either one large plate and one small plate or three small plates in SubRosa Restaurant.
SubRosa includes a hydrotherapy pool, Himalayan salt sauna, Tirol hot sauna, herbal and mineral steam rooms, relaxation spaces and more. The spa is fully accessible with step-free access, accessible changing facilities and a pool hoist available on request. Spa days should be booked ahead, particularly for larger weekend groups.
