From waterfront bars with serious views to clubs that know how to throw a proper party, Liverpool is the perfect place to twist and shout for her final weekend. Expect cocktails that pack a punch and a Scouse welcome that'll have her planning to come back before the weekend is over.
PLAN MY LIVERPOOL HEN
Liverpool is the go-to for hens, and with good reason. The city centre is compact enough to move between completely different atmospheres in one night, while the locals have a habit of turning strangers into temporary best friends by the bathroom mirror. Add champagne brunches, rooftop cocktails, live music and clubs that actually know how to keep a night going, and everything feels easy. Liverpool knows how to throw a party without trying too hard — just big energy, good people and proper Northern charm.
WHERE TO STAY
Liverpool’s best group stays cluster around the city centre, Albert Dock and the areas surrounding Mathew Street, putting bars, restaurants and nightlife within easy walking distance. The centre is compact, hotels are generally very used to hen groups, and you can get a lot of style for your money without needing to rely on taxis all weekend.
THINGS TO DO
Liverpool does full-on hen weekends brilliantly. Think brunches, cocktail making, live music, competitive activities and enough daytime plans to keep everyone busy before the night really starts. It’s energetic, easy to navigate and very good at turning one booking into an entire day.
BRUNCH
A long lunch, plenty of drinks and a very sensible way to get Saturday started.
TASTING
Very Scottish, considerably more sophisticated than shots, and actually worth remembering the next morning.
COCKTAILS
Shake, stir and make something considerably better than whatever you normally order at the bar.
EXPERIENCE
A little culture between cocktails, because apparently we’re capable of doing both.
NIGHT OUT
Start somewhere polished, finish somewhere considerably less organised. Exactly as it should be.
DRINKS
Tiny doors, very good cocktails and at least one bar somebody will insist they discovered first.
EAT + DRINK
Liverpool makes it dangerously easy to keep going. Start with brunch or dinner somewhere around the city centre or Albert Dock, move on to cocktails, then let Mathew Street or the surrounding bars take over. These are the places we’d send straight to the group chat.
