VibeBoutique

Hotel Indigo takes a row of honey-coloured Georgian townhouses and gives them a much less sensible interior life. Its 154 rooms riff on Bath’s history of writers, architects, romance and general eighteenth-century misbehaviour, with velvet, pattern and plenty of colour behind the very respectable Grade I-listed frontage.

For groups, it is more practical than the boutique styling might suggest. Standard rooms can come with two single beds, while Premium rooms are publicly listed with either two singles or two double beds. Connecting rooms are available on request too, which gives you considerably more flexibility than a hotel built entirely around romantic king rooms.

The real reason it earns its place, though, is that the hotel is actively set up for celebrations. There are private dining rooms, a speakeasy-style event space and cocktail masterclasses that the hotel itself specifically recommends for hen parties. So you can have the Georgian-Bath aesthetic without having to pretend nobody mentioned the word hen at reception.

Sleeping arrangements

  • Standard Rooms range from 15–27 sq m and are available with either one king or two single beds, making the twin configuration the obvious friend-sharing option.
  • Premium Rooms run from 21–37 sq m and can have one king, two singles or two double beds, giving groups more flexibility.
  • Suites are larger at 40–48 sq m but centre on one king bed. Connecting rooms and rollaways are available on request; exact adult occupancy and supplier allocation need confirming.

Location

Hotel Indigo sits on South Parade, a quieter Georgian street just behind the main city-centre action. Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths, SouthGate and the restaurants around central Bath are all comfortably walkable, while Bath Spa station is only a short stroll away for train arrivals. That makes it especially useful when people are turning up at different times. You are central enough to head out without taxis, but slightly removed from the busiest evening footfall once everyone finally makes it back.

Despite being so central, the street itself remains peaceful and quiet… Every single member of staff… was warm, attentive, and genuinely amazing.
