Ruby Molly

Good beds, cocktails and Temple Bar close enough without sleeping above it. A hotel for the bride who wants a weekend away, not a hen.

VibeDesign-led

Ruby Molly is for the group that wants the weekend away, the cocktails and the slightly excessive getting-ready playlist, but could happily leave every recognisable hen tradition at home. The 272-room hotel takes its design cues from the area’s old markets, mixing warm wood, vintage references and polished modern bedrooms with Ruby’s deliberately stripped-back “Lean Luxury” approach.

Rooms are made for two rather than group sharing, so this is a multiple-bedrooms situation rather than everyone squeezing into one apartment. What you do get is good soundproofing, oversized beds, rainfall showers and five room categories ranging from compact Nest rooms to larger Loft rooms with private terraces.

The social bit happens downstairs, where Ruby’s 24-hour bar gives everyone somewhere much better to gather than a corridor. Add Temple Bar around ten minutes away on foot and this makes a very good girls’ city break — just not one that should be booked or presented to the hotel as a hen weekend while the current restriction remains.

Important: Ruby Molly’s current policy does not accept hen parties. This listing is for a genuine girls’ or bridesmaids’ weekend where the bride has opted out of a traditional hen, not a way to relabel one.

Sleeping arrangements

  • Nest and Cosy rooms are the smallest categories at roughly 16–17 sq m, with one oversized bed and a maximum standard occupancy of two.
  • Lovely rooms offer a little more breathing space at around 18–22 sq m, while Wow rooms average roughly 25 sq m.
  • Loft rooms are the largest option, reaching around 25 sq m and adding a private terrace. Standard rooms are designed for a maximum of two guests, with no adult group rooms.

Location

Ruby Molly sits on East Arran Street, just north of the River Liffey, with Temple Bar around ten minutes away on foot. Henry Street and Mary Street shopping are close by, while Four Courts is the nearest Luas stop for getting further across the city. Dublin Castle, the Jameson Distillery and the central south-side nightlife are all straightforward from here. For a group, it gives you plenty within walking distance without putting your bedroom directly above Temple Bar’s busiest late-night streets.

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 11am. The smaller Nest and Cosy categories are genuinely compact, so Lovely, Wow or Loft rooms make more sense where getting-ready space matters. The current £122 Nest rate only had four rooms available when checked, so larger groups may need the next room category. Most importantly, Ruby Molly should not be sold as a hen stay without direct written approval.

Definitely would think twice about this place if you were just there splitting a room with a friend or colleague.
