The Hoxton
Italian dinners, cocktails downstairs and beautiful bedrooms worth splurging on. The Hoxton is for brides who want a city break, not a hen weekend.
The Hoxton is for the bride who has been extremely clear: there will be no hen weekend. No themed itinerary, no identifying accessories, no mysterious activity booked for 2pm. Instead, everyone meets in Edinburgh for a few days of very good food, cocktails and staying somewhere you’d choose even if nobody was getting married.
The hotel spreads 214 bedrooms across 11 restored Georgian townhouses in Haymarket, with soft colours, original architectural details and the kind of interiors that make hanging around downstairs feel like part of the plan. Patatino handles long Italian dinners, while the Lobby Bar works for the inevitable “one before we go out” that turns into three.
There are even proper group options if you want to make more of a weekend of it: bunk rooms, a self-contained 64-bedroom building for larger private stays and three Hox Houses, each with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen and living space. It is basically made for getting ready together — just very explicitly not for a hen party.
Important: The Hoxton’s current policy says no hen parties. This listing is for a genuine bridesmaids or girls’ weekend where the bride has opted out of a traditional hen, not for disguising one.
The Hoxton sits across a row of Georgian townhouses in Haymarket, less than five minutes from the station and within easy reach of Edinburgh’s West End. Princes Street, George Street and the Old Town are all walkable, while the tram makes airport arrivals unusually painless. The neighbourhood is calmer than the Grassmarket or Cowgate but still packed with good places to eat and drink. For a bridesmaids’ weekend, it gives you central Edinburgh without making late-night chaos part of the room rate.
Features
Standard check-in is from 2pm and checkout is by noon. The current hotel policy does not accept hen parties, so only position this for a genuine non-hen friend or bridesmaids’ trip.

Quieter part of town but easy to walk to many things. Great staff too.
The hotel has a great atmosphere from the moment you walk through the doors, with a stylish lobby that feels welcoming.
Room was perfect, we had a great nights sleep and enjoyed a lazy morning with breakfast in bed.
