We had 7 king size rooms booked and they were all spotlessly clean and no issues.
The Social Hub
Rooftop cocktails in the heart of Merchant City for the brides who said absolutely not to a hen. Two nights with her bridesmaids? Sold.
The Social Hub is for the bride whose hen brief was essentially: can we just go somewhere good instead? It mixes hotel rooms with coworking, lounges, restaurants and enough communal space that meeting downstairs doesn’t mean twelve people standing beside reception pretending not to block the door.
Bedrooms are mostly made for one or two rather than squeezing everyone together, so the appeal isn’t clever room capacity. It’s what happens outside them. There are sofas, games, work-and-hangout spaces and a rooftop that now does sharing plates, DJs and cocktails until late. Basically, everyone can actually spend time together without turning somebody’s double room into an unofficial dressing room.
And then there’s Merchant City outside. Dinner, drinks and the rest of central Glasgow require very little planning from here. It’s social without being “hen hotel” social — which, for the person who has categorically opted out of having one, is rather the point.
Important: The Social Hub’s current policy does not accept hen parties. This listing is for genuine bridesmaids or girls’ weekends where the bride has opted out of a traditional hen, not for re-labelling a hen booking.
The Social Hub sits in Candleriggs Square, right in Merchant City, so dinner and drinks can begin almost immediately without anyone opening Uber. George Square, Trongate and the bars around Merchant City are all easy on foot, while Queen Street station is nearby for whoever inevitably arrives later than everyone else. Buchanan Street and the city-centre shops are walkable too. It’s busy and properly urban, but the hotel’s huge communal spaces mean you don’t have to leave again the second you’ve checked in.
Features
Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by noon. Bookings above nine rooms or 18 guests fall under separate group conditions. The hotel’s current policy does not accept hen parties, so this should only be booked for a genuine non-hen group stay.
