Opium has the secret-bar thing entirely nailed: stone vaults, candles, velvet, curiosities and cocktails worth finding. Its masterclasses take place behind the bar with one of Opium’s bartenders, so the format feels less like a standard hen package and more like the opening move of a genuinely good night out.
Make cocktails from the bar’s own menu, drink them as you go, then stay for another round afterwards. Smaller groups can also take over the Secret Room, with its own bartender and private karaoke if the evening starts heading in that direction.

Masterclasses are arranged directly and Opium explicitly welcomes hen parties. The Secret Room can accommodate groups of up to 16 and comes with its own bartender, with private karaoke available if the group wants to keep the night going.
The venue sits below ground inside Bath’s vaults, so it is not step-free. Larger groups can also enquire about full venue hire, and weekend sessions are worth booking well ahead.
