A Self Serve Wine Night in Jesmond
Angel’s Share is worth the short trip to Jesmond when the bride wants something grown-up before Newcastle inevitably gets louder. The self-serve wine machines are the hook: use your card, choose a tasting pour or full glass and work through different bottles at your own pace.
Add artisan cheese and charcuterie and it becomes exactly the sort of evening that starts with “just one glass” and somehow develops into a detailed group opinion on sparkling wine. It is relaxed, social and particularly good for smaller or mixed-age groups who would quite like to hear one another speak.
The wine machines let you pay by debit or credit card and choose between a 50ml tasting pour, 175ml glass or 250ml glass. Wine can also be ordered traditionally from the team if operating machinery has lost its appeal by glass three.
The £30 figure is an indicative Main Characters wine-and-food spend rather than a fixed Angel’s Share package. The bar is closed Mondays and currently stays open until 11pm Wednesday to Saturday.
