Bath is not exactly overflowing with dinners that can carry the whole night, which is why Walcot House makes sense. Set inside a former bakery on Walcot Street, it shape-shifts from café and restaurant into somewhere people actually stay for drinks once dinner is finished.
The Conservatory is the bit to book for a group: one long table, seasonal feasting food and enough privacy for dinner to feel like an occasion without disappearing into a generic function room. Afterwards, you are already inside Walcot House, with Bread & Jam downstairs for cocktails and late drinks if the group wants to keep going. It is one of the easiest ways to give a Bath night some proper shape without booking three different venues.
The Conservatory can accommodate private dining groups of up to 26, making it a strong option for hens that want everybody around one table rather than split across the restaurant. Large-group menus are generally pre-arranged, so the final food format and price will be confirmed before booking.
Walcot House is particularly useful on Fridays and Saturdays when the group wants dinner to flow into drinks afterwards. Bread & Jam sits downstairs in the vaulted basement, so nobody has to start negotiating taxis halfway through the night.
