Glasgow Hen Hotels Worth Spending More On

Glasgow doesn’t do things by halves, hen weekends included. Edinburgh’s cooler little sister is a city built for nights out: good Scottish banter, even better bars, and a warmth that makes your bride feel like the main character before she’s even ordered a drink. It’s underestimated, which is exactly why it overdelivers.

And while they say people make Glasgow, the right hotel definitely helps. Whether you’re doing the West End for tree-lined streets and independent wine bars, or staying central, we’ve rounded up the best luxury hotels for a Glasgow hen weekend.

DISCLAIMER: These are luxury-leaning picks, curated for a group that wants five-star fuss and are happy to pay for it. Not to worry, we've also curated budget-friendly stays for hens in Glasgow.

Native is the aparthotel that makes a Glasgow hen feel instantly more pulled together. It’s set inside a beautiful sandstone building, so you get the good bones (high ceilings, big windows, herringbone floors) with interiors that feel fancy and quietly expensive. The real win is the space. Living-room set-up for the pre-dinner spritz, a kitchen for the robe-and-espresso reset, and enough daylight that getting-ready photos basically take care of themselves. Be warned, George Square is under refurbishment until 2027, so the views aren't quite as impressive right now as they normally are.

WHY IT WORKS: Set in the middle of the action, Buchanan Street, George Square and Merchant City are just steps away, keeping the weekend walkable and low-faff. If anyone is driving, If you're using your car, you'll get almost 50% off the normal (eye-watering) rate at the nearest NCP car park.

INSIDER TIP:Ask for a room on an upper level, which not only gets you away from traffic, but also the occasional explosion of bottles being hurled into skips from the restaurants under the hotel.

Is Mar Hall a typical hen do destination? No. Is it technically Glasgow? No. But does it offer a beautiful, relaxing, close enough that you can do dinner and drinks in town and still wake up somewhere that looks like an Outlander establishing shot? Absolutely. Perched above the River Clyde, it does misty, cinematic views through these double-height gothic windows that make you thank your lucky starts for a second. The whole place has had a top-to-toe glow-up recently too, so it now feels restored and grand again. Think jewel tones, gilded plasterwork, and that old-house drama that makes a weekend feel like the occasion it's supposed to. It won't be for everyone, but it would make the perfect base for a more mild than wild luxury hen.

Mar Hall

Bishopton,  just outside Glasgow (around 20 minutes from the city)

WHY IT WORKS: This is the upgrade pick for a hen that wants to feel like a retreat, not a city break. You get the drama and the calm in one place, with spa time built in, plus you’re perfectly placed for best of both plans. Call her Hannah Montana. Glasgow’s best restaurants are within easy reach, and Loch Lomond is also close enough to turn the next day into a soft adventure. Did we mention they also have a screening room? Bridesmaids on, wedding worries at the door.

INSIDER TIP: Treat it like a two-speed weekend. Do one Glasgow night (dinner + cocktails), then come back and let Mar Hall be the main event the next day. Book spa time for late morning, then claim a lounge spot by the windows for the golden-hour drink. It’s the kind of place where the view does a lot of the leg work.

High ceilings and a velvet-and-marble polish that makes you forget you're basically on Sauchiehall Street. The recently renovated Kimpton Blythswood Square is Glasgow’s grande-dame. Beautiful rooms, a full-service spa, a buzzing bar, restaurant in a ballroom, hair salon and a 40-seat basement cinema... if this doesn't scream adult sleepover to you I don't know what will.

WHY IT WORKS: This is the easiest hen, but five-star base in the city. You’ve got suite options for a glam HQ, mirrors where you actually need them, and the practical stuff is handled: decisive water pressure, plug points that reach, and front-of-house that stays unflappable with split arrivals, bag storage and late checkout requests. Plus the spa and thermal areas give you a built-in morning-after plan that feels indulgent, not apologetic.

INSIDER TIP: Do it strategically. Book one nice room for the bride plus adjacent doubles on the same corridor so rails/steamers/hair tools live in one room and the rest stay serene.

The Address is a newcomer in Glasgow that manages to hit the rare sweet spot: it looks expensive, feels calm, but won't break the bank for a big group stay. Think crisp lines and warm woods, with bedrooms that are camera-ready but still practical. There's a quaint little bar that means no pre-drinking on top of each other and checkout is 12pm as standard, which is a god-send with a hangover.

WHY IT WORKS:  Location. You're a 4 minute walk (yes, we timed it) from the train station which you can avoid the overpriced black cabs that park up outside. The unsexy things are thought of: plug points where you actually need them (by mirrors), good water pressure, and a team that’s used to celebratory stays so bag storage and late checkout don’t feel like a negotiation. We don't say this lightly, but the staff do go over and above.

INSIDER TIP: They do hold a £50 security deposit: this isn't exclusive to hen groups, but is taken from all guests until check out. Factor in so that you're not caught off guard at check in.

voco Grand Central is pure railway romance. Think chandeliers, soaring ceilings, a little bit of old-Glasgow glamour, and the kind of lobby that makes you want a drink immediately. It’s one of those hotels where the logistics feel almost smug. You step off the train, walk a minute, and you’re already in the bar. No taxis, no dragging bags over cobbles in heels, if luxury means convenience to you, this is pretty damn luxurious.

WHY IT WORKS: It’s the easiest base in the city for staggered arrivals and a group that’s going out after dark. Everything is central, so your dinners and bars are all a quick hop away. Bedrooms are genuinely hen-friendly too. It’s classic, convenient, and while the decor didn't leave me feeling inspired, it's hard to deny it's clearly been renovated with care.

INSIDER TIP: Have a few drinks at Champagne Central to anchor the first night, be warned though, Charlotte makes a mean french martini that might keep you there for hours. And if you’re light sleepers, ask for a room away from the concourse for a quieter night.

This decadent little rabbit hole in the middle of Merchant City is what you book when the bride’s Pinterest board is velvet, candlelight and a whole lot of leopard print. It's not for the faint heart, that's for sure, but for the right bride, it's the only option. It’s a small, swaggering boutique where more is more: wine-dark rooms, moody lighting built into hand-crafted four-posters, marble wet rooms, and more crushed velvet than you'll know what to do with. The vibe is decadent-but-playful— and the real sell is the Sacred Garden, a rooftop that feels more London than lowly streets of Glasgow.

WHY IT WORKS: This is the hen option for an after-dark bride who wants everything to be easy once the heels are on. Merchant City is right there for bars, late bites and a few glasses to turn into a few bottles. The rooms are compact but fine for getting ready in shifts and the hotel’s whole VIP packages make it easy to make the bride feel like the main character.

INSIDER TIP: Book a mix of room types: one larger for the bride (and roll-top-tub content), then fill out the rest with cabins. Book the Sacred Garden early doors, as tables will go quickly in the summer months. By summer, we mean less rainy than normal.
