Manchester Airbnbs for a hen weekend, featuring large group houses and countryside stays near the city

The Manchester Airbnbs That Actually Work for a Hen Weekend

Manchester may be the perfect backdrop for a hen weekend, but if the bride has more than eight friends, the maid of honour has her work cut out for her. Manc is full of life, but not full of perfectly laid-out Airbnbs to fit a dozen girls and her mum.

What you will find are almost-perfect options. Beautiful lofts that are one bathroom short and countryside houses with not one but two hot tubs (if you’re willing to compromise on location). These are our favourite Manchester Airbnbs for a hen weekend she won’t want to forget.

MILO House, Piccadilly

SLEEPS 12

Bright birch ply kitchen island in a Manchester city centre Airbnb, ideal for a hen weekend with drinks, snacks and everyone gathered round.

A firm favourite. From the outside, it’s pretty unassuming. Then you walk in and realise it’s got something to it. At the heart of it is a dreamy birch ply kitchen island that you’ll spend a few too many hours around. Six double bedrooms keeps things simple (no one drawing the obvious short straw). But the real draw? Location, location, location. You’re a few minutes from Piccadilly, walkable into the centre, and close enough that taxis aren’t even worth ordering. If you’re looking for a true Manchester hen weekend, that’s kind of all you need.

Good to know: Only two bathrooms for 12, so plan accordingly. Beds are made up based on guest count, so confirm the correct numbers and don’t be cheeky.

Gatsby by The Heim, City Centre

SLEEPS 12–14

Gold-accented art deco dining space in a Manchester Airbnb, perfect for hen weekend dinners and group drinks before a night out.

Art deco city centre duplex with cinema room, 12-seater dining table and a spiral staircase that looks better than it functions after a couple of drinks. Gatsby leans hard into its brief — low lighting, gold accents, curved lines — and it actually works. The upstairs space is where the weekend lives: a kitchen and dining setup that seats the whole group, a cinema room with a 100-inch screen that’s very easy to lose a few hours in, and enough atmosphere that getting ready feels like part of the night rather than a pre-step. Location means everything here runs on foot — bars, restaurants, all of it within walking distance, which takes a surprising amount of stress out of the weekend. Realistically, it’s more comfortable at 10–12 than the full 14, which involves sofa beds and a bit of creative maths.

Good to know: There’s a fair bit of pre-arrival admin (deposit and verification), and that spiral staircase — visually great, slightly questionable in heels.

Rye Top Farm House, Peak District

SLEEPS 14

Peak District farmhouse with two hot tubs, a 14-seater dining table and enough countryside to make everyone slow down whether they planned to or not. About 30 minutes from Manchester, this looks like a farmhouse on paper and delivers without any of the “are we sharing with livestock?” energy. Oak beams, vaulted ceilings, a separate dining room with a 14-seater table, and multiple living spaces so nobody ends up stacked on the same sofa by default. Bedrooms are mostly en-suite, which matters more than anyone admits until day two. Outside is the point — two hot tubs, open Peaks views, and that specific countryside quiet where morning coffee becomes a full hour and the itinerary quietly dissolves. The £1,000 deposit keeps things… civillised.

Good to know: Remote enough that you’re planning food shops in advance. Hot tubs may need time to heat on arrival — don’t arrive expecting them ready.

Depot by The Heim, Ancoats

SLEEPS 10–12

Spacious duplex Airbnb in Ancoats with pool table and large sofa, ideal for a Manchester hen weekend with social living space.

If your priority is location and somewhere you can pre-drink comfortably, Depot is a strong middle ground. Set in Ancoats — arguably the best Manchester area right now — you’re walking distance to Northern Quarter, good coffee, better wine bars, and the vibey restaurants that accidentally turn into full evenings. Inside, it’s a duplex setup that leans practical but social. The downstairs space is the anchor — big sofa, huge TV, pool table — with a dining table that actually seets 10, which is surprisingly rare. Bedrooms are simple, three kings, good storage, nothing fussy but crucially, three bathrooms in total keep things moving.

Good to know: There’s potential for noise (you’re central, and it’s Ancoats), plus a slightly admin-heavy check-in with deposit/verification required before arrival. Also no lift and internal stairs, so not ideal if you’re travelling heavy.

Omnia by The Heim, Ancoats

SLEEPS 10–12

Multiple ensuite bedrooms in a Manchester Airbnb, making hen weekend mornings easier with no bathroom queues.

Four kings, four bathrooms and a 12-seater dining table in the middle of Ancoats — the more considered option for groups who want things to actually run smoothly. This is the more put-together version of a central Manchester stay. Same Ancoats location — which means Northern Quarter, good wine bars, and the restaurants that accidentally turn into full evenings — but with a layout that feels less crash pad, more intentional. The main space does the work: open-plan kitchen, proper dining table, oversized sofa, pool table that will absolutely get competitive by day two. Four kings and four bathrooms (including multiple en-suites) make a noticeable difference at this size — fewer negotiations, smoother mornings, less waiting around. It stretches to 12 with sofa beds, but lands best at 8–10 if you want to keep things easy.

Good to know: Expect the usual Heim admin (deposit/verification before arrival), plus some noise given how central you are. Also no lift to the lower level, so there’s a bit of up/down involved.

Eden Townhouse, Salford

SLEEPS 10–12

Incredible bunk bed house in a airbnb made for hen weekends in Manchester. Private cinema and games room? Sold!

Most Manchester Airbnbs make you choose between location and space. This one doesn’t. Close enough to the city that nights out are easy, big enough that coming back doesn’t feel like a compromise. Proper kitchen and dining setup, separate living room, downstairs cinema and games room — and a garden with a hot tub and firepit that will quietly become the reason half the group doesn’t make it out on night two. There’s a beautiful bunk-bed room which is either the best room in the house or the one everyone tries to avoid. Depends entirely on your group. Somewhere you can go out, come back, regroup, and not feel like you’re all hovering around the same corner of a room.

Good to know: Not a stumble-home location — you’ll Uber back. Stairs across all floors. And worth deciding early who’s in the bunk room to avoid unnecessary tension.

Margot House, South Manchester

SLEEPS 16–19

Clean, spacious dining area in a Manchester Airbnb, perfect for hen weekend table setups, themes and group dinners.

On its own, Margot is calm. Clean lines, that Scandi, minimal feel. Importantly, it’s a blank canvas. If you’re the group that’s bringing table décor, a theme, maybe something slightly unhinged but still well executed — this is where it works. Bedrooms are spread across three floors, mostly doubles with one triple, so it’s flexible without feeling like a free-for-all. Bathrooms are… fine. Location-wise, you’re in South Manchester — so not central, not walkable into the night, but easy enough in an Uber. It’s more of a go out, come back, reset setup than stumble-home chaos. The area itself has a bit of student energy, so you might get some background noise, but realistically, you’re not in Manchester for early nights. It’s also one of those places that feels thought through in small ways — enough glassware (important), and set up for groups rather than just technically fits 16.

Good to know: Parking is tight (drive fits a few cars, the rest is a bit of a hunt), towels are on the smaller side so worth bringing extras, and beds are made up based on guest count — so lock that in properly before you arrive.

Heaton Park Spa House, North Manchester

SLEEPS 16–20

This is what Hannah Montanna meant when she said best of both worlds. Set just 15 minutes outside the centre, Heaton Park has just about everything. Yes, even a swimming pool. The five bedroom house can sleep 20, but realistically, that’s assuming everyone’s happy sharing and you don’t want to sit on the living room couch for the duration. 15 is a better bet. Outside, there’s decking and space for BBQs in summer, plus Heaton Park right behind you if you want fresh air between rounds. You can also bring the weekend to you — private chefs, cocktail classes, treatments — which makes sense given you’re not central.

Good to know: This isn’t a free-for-all party house, which is to be expected with spa in the name. Also worth noting prices are based on 16, with extra charges beyond that — and you’ll need taxis into Manchester for nights out.

The Old Trafford Zen, Old Trafford

SLEEPS 14

Relaxed living area in a Manchester Airbnb, offering a practical base for hen weekends near the city centre.

Old Trafford and ‘Zen’ don’t typically go hand in hand, but alas, this six-bedroom terraced house has been aptly named. Holding my hands up, this isn’t giving anyone a run for the money in terms of design. But, it is clean, freshly renovated, and (crucially) has the bedroom-to-bathroom ratio 14 girls need. The living room and kitchen are functional, and the bedrooms are consistent — comfortable beds, decent linen, nothing wildly styled, but everything feels looked after. While not right in the centre, you’re only a 5–10 minute Uber in, so not walkable for a weekend in heels, but easy enough to dip in and out without too much overthinking.

Good to know: This is more practical than personality-led, great if you want somewhere easy and low-maintenance, less so if you’re after a big wow house.

Brooklyn Penthouse, City Centre

SLEEPS 10–12

Open-plan living and dining space in a Manchester penthouse Airbnb, ideal for hen weekends with drinks flowing and everyone together.

Two-floor city centre penthouse with four kings, a jacuzzi bath wildcard, and the kind of location that means the weekend starts the second you leave the front door. Brooklyn isn’t trying to be a design moment — and that’s fine, because the location does the talking. You step outside and you’re already in it: no taxis, no coordination, just straight into bars and dinner until somehow it’s 2am. Inside, the layout works quietly in your favour. Bedrooms sit downstairs, which means people can drift off without the whole place shutting down, while the upstairs living space — big dining table, sofa that holds everyone, open and bright — stays going as long as it needs to. The jacuzzi bath is an unexpected addition that sounds optional until someone suggests it after a night out and suddenly it’s a whole thing. Realistically this works best at 8–10 rather than the full 12, heating can be inconsistent (someone will mention it, someone will steal a duvet, it’ll be fine), and if the lift’s out, you’re earning your steps.

Good to know: Spiral staircase to the main living space, standard pre-check-in admin, and a surprisingly strict two-person limit on the jacuzzi (health & safety ruins everything).

Rough Bank Barn, Newhey

SLEEPS 12

Rustic barn conversion near Manchester with woodburner and cosy interiors, perfect for a relaxed hen weekend escape.

This is the slightly more low-key sister to the big Peak District houses — same idea, just a bit less polished, a bit more we’ve escaped the city for the weekend. Set out near Newhey on the edge of the Peaks, it’s got that classic barn conversion feel. Thick walls, woodburner, everyone ending up in the same spot with a drink — it’s not trying to be Pinterest and it doesn’t need to be. The BBQ hut becomes the social centre the second someone mentions food, the hot tub needs no rotation system, and the garden views are the kind that make people actually put their phones down. Six bedrooms, one en-suite — so call your room early, coordinate mornings, and manage expectations accordingly. Also worth being clear on: this is not a city base with countryside views. You’re properly out. No Ubering back between bars, no popping to Ancoats for brunch. Stock up, stay in, and commit to it.

Good to know: Friday or Monday check-ins only), limited en-suites, and very much a stay-in setup rather than a city base.
